RULE
1) - The Accademia Musicale Internazionale (ex Umbra), an Endas association based in Perugia (Italy), organize the fourth International Pianistic Prize, with the aim of remembering Arturo Benedetto Michelangeli, the pianistic myth of our times. The Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Perugia collaborate to the promotion of the fourth Pianistic International Prize, which be held in October 2010, the 8-9-10th in Assisi (Pg). This competition is open to pianists coming from all around the world, born after 1.st January 1977.
2) - To apply for, the candidate has to fill in every single part the application form,attached to this rules. Application form has to be sent to: Segreteria Premio Pianistico Internazionale (International Pianistic Prize secretary) Accademia Musicale Internazionale - Via G. Santini 4 - 06123 Perugia (Italy). Application form and rules have to arrive in Perugia not later than 25th September 2010. Please note that the postmark of the starting city is considered as evidence of when everything has been sent.
3) - Together with the application form, the candidate pledges himself to pay the inscription fee for the amount of € 100. The incription fee will be not given back for any reason.
4) - The application form has to be sent together with the following documents on unstamped paper:
* a recent passportsize photo
* birth certificate or self certificate of birth (autocertificazione di nascita sostitutiva)
* copy of identity card or passport
* teacher's name
* receipt of inscription fee' payment
* full chosen program and short Curriculum Vitae (either in Italian or English)
* if you wish, either a black and white or color photo, to be used for the press
5) - All the candidates provided with Identity card or passport must be on 8th October at 10 a.m in Assisi (Pg) for preparatory operations and in order to stand the first preliminary test (at 3 p.m.). The candidates' order will be chosen by lots on 8th October.
6) - The jury will be made up by at least five well-renowned musicians (concert artists, music teachers, musicologists and music reviewers). The jury' names will be notified not later than 25th september 2010 After 25th september, possible replacements will occurr only if proven need. The artistic director of Accademia Musicale Internazionale will be without right to vote a jury's member.
7) - The judgement is expressed at the end of every single test. The jury's vote is confidential and expressed troughout a"YES" or a "NOT". The arithmetic poll in hundredth will be used for the final trial. The jury's judgment is final and unquestionable.The board can aword no prizes , if by chance the candidates do not meet all the requirements. The first prize cannot be awarded ex-aequo. The second and the third prize can be ex-aequo: the sum will be divided in the same part. The winners, who do not take part to the prize-giving, looses the sum, even if their absence is justified. Winners concert and prize-giving is scheduled for 10th October 2010 at 5.30 pm.
8) - The jury cannot be made up either by people in relationship, kinship or relatives' degree with one or more candidates or by people, who gave private lessons to one or more persons during the previous two years before the beginning of these trials. Among the jury's members, who still teaches or teached in the previous two years before the beginning of these trials at school or conservatory must refrain from any dibate and from expressing vote regarding the candidates' examination. This abstention must be made clear in proceedings. When the committee is appointed, every single member must issue a statement on his/her private situation towards the candidates according to what has been written above. This statement must be given to the jury's secretary.
9) - If required, the committee can within every trial either listen again to the candidate or shorten his/her performance. Every examination, act, judgement or jury' decision must be recorded . The minutes are public: they can be viewed by the jury's secretary.
10) - Candidates are not allowed to lay budget or any other kind' claims for their performances during winners' concert or for a possible radio and/or television use or for any other copy tecnique (i.d: Cd publication) of their trial performance and of winner's concert.
11) - For what NOT included in these regulations, either the Artistic director or if absent, the jury' president (to whom every explanatory problem is also transferred) are qualified to make decision.
12) - Application to the contest involves the unreserved acceptance of these rules without any proviso.
13) - TRIALS' PROGRAM
FIRST TRIAL: Free program about 25 minutes.
FINAL TRIAL: no more than six (6) candidates will be allowed to take part.
Every candidate must prepare a 45 minutes of free programm.
All pieces must be played by heart. It is not possible to repeat in final trial pieces of the first trial.
14) - Awarding of concert prizes is decided by artistic committee. For concert prizes, the winners will receive an expenses refund to be arranged together with the organizing Association of the concert.
15) - Artistic board reserves the right to cancel the competion, in case of proven circumstances beyond one's control. Under these circumstances the inscription fee already paid will be immediately refunded.
16) - For what NOT included in these regulations, Artistic board takes upon himself every expertise.
17) - In case of notification, the only rightful text is the printed edition in Italian of announcement of competition. In case of dispute Perugia' place of jurisdiction will be competent.
PRIZES
1st prize: € 1.200 euros and 2 concerts.
2nd prize: € 800 euros and 1 concert.
3rd prize: € 500 euros and 1 concert
Special prize "Arturo Benedetto Michelangeli" of € 400 euros and 1 concert.
Prizes are not clean from the deduction to the law.
