Rule 2008

The high specialization Courses of the International Academy of Music of Perugia are open to Italian and foreign citizens and are divided in annual and three-year. Pupils can be distinguished in permanent and auditors. To enter the courses pupils will have to sit for an entrance examination, after which the teacher will finally judge if to accept or not the pupil to the attendance of a three-year course or of a free annual course. The unsuccessful candidates will be allowed to attend the courses as Auditors. The number of the permanent pupils is limited and can change depending on the courses. The applications ( with a passport-size photo attached ) will have to arrive together with the enrolment fee (associative), to be paid through bank cheque or postal order made out to the International Academy of Music.

The application will have to be addressed to:

ACCADEMIA MUSICALE INTERNAZIONALE
Via G. Santini n. 4 - 06123 Perugia (Italy)
Tel. +39-075-3720017 - Fax + 39- 075- 6070798
by 29th February 2008

The main venue of the courses is in Assisi.

The enrolment fee, fixed in 100 Euros, enables to sit for the entrance examination, to the free enrolment to the courses of "Umbriaestate 2008" and free entrance to all the concerts 2008 organized from the International Academy of Music, it will not in any way be reimboursed. The pupil (or the group) admitted to the courses, will moreover have to pay entirely the fee of annual attendance also if he stops, for any reason, the frequency of the courses. The chamber groups will have to be set up. The enrolment fee can be paid either at one go or divided into 6 instalments to be paid on occasion of the first 6 meetings. The settlement will have to be made within and no later than the 6th meeting also if the pupil hadn't attended lessons. The pupils are obliged to enquire about the dates and times of the lessons, the International Academy of the Music doesn't take the responsibility for this at all. The foreign pupils will be obliged to pay at the beginning of the course at least half of the attendance fee and to divide into instalments the remaining amount. The meetings will take place preferably on Saturday and Sunday (but also on other days ) depending on the teachers' and halls' availability, from March to December except for the summer months.
At the end of every academic year ( on demand) the pupils of the annual courses will get a Certificate of Attendance while the pupils of the three-year courses will have to sit for an exam to pass to the following year. At the end of the three years the pupils considered qualified will be admitted to sit for the final exam of the course, as per programme due separately, to get the High Specialization Diploma in the subject studied. In the passing and diploma exams a minimum mark of 8/10 is necessary.
The final exams could take place as public concerts. For the admission to the final exam also the lessons attended in all during the three years will be considered, that will not have to be less than 75% of the ones held by the teachers ( except for illnesses or other obstacles, in any case proved).
The pupil admitted to sit for the Diploma Exam will have to send his application to the headmaster by 30th November 2008 after paying the diploma fee of 300 Euros.
The International Academy of Music is not responsible for the abolition of courses already established or to be established and in this case the enrolment fee already paid will be reimoursed. The International Academy of Music will be moreover allowed to change professors/teachers also during the academic year owing to circumstances beyond its control. Every year the best pupils of the courses will be invited from the International Academy of music to give some concerts. The Academy is not responsible for any hitch or damage of any kind, which could result from the attendance to the lessons or from the participation to the activities of the Academy itself. The pupils who will participate to events organized from the Academy will not be entitled to any remuneration or repayment of the expenses, if this has not been previously agreed. The teachers/professors will not be obliged to recover the lessons not attended by the pupils. Possible changes owed to circumstances beyond the Academy control will be communicated in due time.
Pupils who will not be up-to-date with payments by the last division into instalments proposed by the management, will be suspended from the lessons.

2 Scholarships of 500 Euros are available each to be awarded, in the teachers' final opinion, to the worthiest students.

These 2008 regulations replace the previous ones. By signing the enrolment application pupils undertake to accept the school and 2008 courses regulations without reserve. For any dispute the Italian text will attest and Perugia Court of justice will have jurisdiction.
